On the Day of Pentecost, the promise of the Father in Christ Jesus came in the Holy Spirit and Power, and the manifestation of the beginning of the Great Commission of the Church (Acts 2). When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we are in His presence. However, His presence is not His power. When we are in the presence of the Holy Spirit, we are in the presence of God in Christ Jesus. The presence of God in Christ Jesus is the glory of God. The Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Jesus, is the Spirit of glory (I Peter 4:14). The presence of the Holy Spirit is the glory of the Holy Spirit. There is no power of the Holy Spirit, if there is no presence of the Holy Spirit. When we became born-again believers in Christ Jesus, we received the promise of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17; Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:14; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; I John 2:20, 27).
The power of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is called the anointing (2 Corinthians 2:21; I John 2:20, 27). The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives will cause us to be, and the Holy Spirit’s power of the anointing will cause us to do. The power of the anointing enables us to do deeds. The presence of the Holy Spirit changes the heart in thoughts, words and deeds. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit that transforms or changes our hearts and lives in the sanctification process of God’s Word of truth by the work of the Holy Spirit. Through God’s Word of truth by the Holy Spirit in the sanctification process of truth, the born-again believer disciple (John 8:31-32; Mark 8:34-38) manifests the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in his thoughts, words, and deeds.
