God so loved the world of all mankind that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God loves the world of sinners but He hates sin. God’s love for the world of sinners was manifested in His only begotten Son; who He made to be the sin bearer for all mankind for all the ages. He gave His Son to suffer in pain, shame, and death. He gave His Son as an offering for our sin (Isaiah 53:10). He was the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29). On Jesus’ way to the cross, He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7; Acts 8:32-33). God imputes mankind’s sin to His Son, Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God (I Peter 1:19). He did not impute our iniquity to us. Rather, God was in Christ reconciling the world of mankind unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto mankind the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19). It pleased the LORD to bruise and crush Jesus unto death to pay the price for sin. The wages of sin is death. Jesus died for all mankind (2 Corinthians 5:15). All the world of mankind was in sin and exposed to the wrath of God. Yet, God so loved mankind that He gave us an undeserved gift of His Son, Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
