This book is for born-again believers in Christ Jesus who want to know what their cross is. The Cross is the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus Christ atoning death.  It is the reconciliation of God with sinners through the suffering and death of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:11).  The message of the Cross is the power of God unto Salvation (Romans 1:16; I Corinthians 1:17-18).  The Cross of the Gospel is both a proposition and a person.  As a proposition it embraces the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-4).  It is also the person of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1).  The Cross is God’s love, grace, and power manifested in the death of Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world of sinners…

After becoming born-again believers in Christ Jesus, we must continue in God’s Word to know the truth.  Jesus is the truth (John 14:6).  The Word of God is the truth (John 17:17).  The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth (John 16:13).  Jesus taught those who had believed on Him to continue in His Word to be His disciples.  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32).  The message of becoming a disciple is given not only to the twelve disciples, but to the people.  Jesus said, “Whosoever will come after Me,” speaks to all born-again believers who will accept the call.  This is an individual choice of the believer to follow Jesus Christ as His disciples. The born-again believer is to deny self-will and take up his cross of the Gospel and follow Jesus. When he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me (Mark 8:34).   When we take up our cross we take up the cross of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for His name sake.  We deny self-will for God’s will to be done in our lives as followers of Jesus Christ.   When we take up our cross we take up the cross of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for His name sake.  We deny self-will for God’s will to be done in our lives as followers of Jesus Christ.

The Bible Study Lesson Series is the following:  (1) Jesus’ Cross of Salvation, (2) The Cross of Jesus, (3) Your Cross as a Born-again Believer in Christ Jesus, (4) Take Up and Bear Your Cross, and (5) The Cross is a Blood Covenant Relationship for Fellowship.
